Bethany Baptist Church was organized in 1973 as an outreach of the Mid-East Baptist Conference and the Baptist General Conference, and remains a congregation committed to living for Jesus Christ, with the Bible as our rule of faith and practice.
Only twenty minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, Bethany is located in McCandless Township, a beautiful suburb north of the city. The church is located on a wooded site with ample parking. The church structure (built in 1975) consists of a multipurpose building and an attached Sanctuary (built in 1984), with classroom facilities forming the downstairs of the church building.
The Sunday morning Worship Service includes the singing of traditional hymns along with selected contemporary choruses. The preaching is primarily expository (see Our Beliefs). Every Worship Service (excluding the Service on the third Sunday of the month) consists of a time for the sharing of praises and prayer requests. The Lord’s Supper is practiced on the third Sunday of every month along with an evening Prayer Service (6-7 pm). The leadership of the church is through a board of Elders.
